Nike Air - Designing Some of the Best Runners Available
Since 1979 when Nike Air made it's debut with the Nike Tailwind running shoe, the Air technology has been used in a wide selection of Nike running shoes proving to be a very versatile shoe. The Air technology is basically "gas encapsulated in the polyurethane". These gas filled plastic membranes are inserted in the soles of the runners to provide cushioning. Trust Nike to come up with this one.
Nike has some great Air runners to choose from. Most are for the small to medium framed high mileage runner. I am a large framed runner and used the Air Pegasus for years and although I loved the shoe when it was new, I found that they just broke down to quickly for me. Very noteworthy, Nike has also followed New Balance's lead and success in offering widths now in some of their models. This is a great feature especially for women with wide feet as they usually have to go to the men's models of runners for a wider variety.
